Welcome to the internet’s worst recipe blog! The name’s Henry, and I am here to cook, drink, write, travel, and take the odd photo or two. Like most people, save the odd health guru with a penchant for taking all fun out of bodily functions on the road to replicating photosynthesis, food and drink have always been a steady presence in my life. But only recently did I really start to examine the bigger picture of how what we eat and drink plays a role in our world (RIP to The Counter, the first publication to really get me thinking about this). Beyond that I also write about modern culture, music, and whatever else happens to come up. Life, love, health, who knows?

There’s a frequently uttered and commonly assumed precept that food isn’t political. I’m here to politely tell you that this is utter b*&%sh#t. Food is political, food is emotional, food is cultural, and food is more than we could ever put into words. It’s a disservice to the amazing people who fill our bellies and quench our thirst day in and day out to not think critically about the food & drink systems we are all a part of.
